||> Summary

There are more girls dying and the like, and Buffy, Dawn, Xander and Spike have to iron some things out from the last episode. Like the fact that Spike is still nuts, although he hides it pretty well. Meanwhile, an ex-boyfriend-turned-demon plagues a girl and the Scoobies help out. Well, Spike tries to until he breaks down and Buffy realizes he has a soul. In England, Willow realized that she has to go back to Sunnydale.

||> Review

Ok, yet another girl bites it, this time in Germany. I still think they are slayers in training due to them being able to fight back so well. But anyway, so far it seems too random. And in another part of the world, Willow is dealing with her insecurities. Have I neglected to mention how cute she is? It’s refreshing to see her so much like she was at the start of the series, all cute and insecure about herself. And the English scenes themselves are very dream-like and hazy. When looking at Giles and Willow in England, I get the sense that it’s a sanctuary. Which is pretty astute of me, since it is one.

Anyway, as for Sunnydale, they seem to be getting into the swing of things. Spike’s shirt threw me for a loop for the longest time, and I thought maybe because every change of state in the Buffyverse is shown in a change of attire, but that it was an affectation was interesting as well. Then of course, that last bit with Buffy finding out and the cross thing seriously got me. I love those heart-rending final scenes.

The other thing that threw me for a loop was the story line relating to the worm thing. And does every worm in the Buffyverse have to look phallic? But I digress. Anyway, was that the Nancy from “The Wish”? I don’t think so, but the episode kept me speculating the entire time. Like, was she a vengeance demon? Nope. Was it the Nancy? Nope. Although her point that everyone is sleeping with everyone else was terrific. Overall, I have been very impressed with the episodes so far and with the inferences within the last two episodes, very excited to see what’s coming up. That Spike thing still gets me.
