Acathla Cleansing Ritual ||>
This spell could have gone many ways with me. It could have
been an invocation, or even a healing spell. However, it seemed
most like a cleansing. Angel was preparing to wake Acathla, not
actually invoking him. So again, Angel does a ritual on BtVS that
doesn't really look like a spell at all.
Now about the ritual: This seems a little stodgy to me, but I
think it's cool if you're into that whole ceremonial scene. I
could see people doing it on the dark or waning moon for some
reason, but it's fine for anytime too.
For more than one person: This ritual gave me a hard time for
covens, so I chucked the idea. I do have one idea though if you
want to do it in a group: you could do everything in unison, or
perform it in a chain. Either way, the litugy is the same.
Materials
Needed:
- You
- Liquid beverage (non-staining; water
is a reeeaally good choice)
This part is done before the circle is cast. At the last
sentence that's when you drink your beverage, but also you need
to spill some on yourself after you drink (like a bit on your hand,
although if you wanted to dribble. . . you could. . .) In essence
this makes you clean on the outside and inside. This is why I recommend
water - it's not sticky, although you could use anything that you
want.
Part I (before entering the circle)
I will drink... the power will wash in me, over me, and I will
be cleansed. I will be worthy to honor the Gods. Bear witness...
as I ascend... as I become. Everything that I am, everything that
I have done, has led me here. I have strayed, I have been lost.
But the Gods redeem me. With this act, I will be clean.
After this, cast the circle. when you are done, before
invocations or anything say this, to complete the entire cleansing.
I like it because seems like closure. However, this part is kinda
optional.
Gods, I am cleansed
here before you. My blood, life and hope are before you. They
make me worthy to be here now.
Now just do what you usually do. |
